Business owners in Richmond have created wonderful displays for the annual Easter Window Competition. Great imagination has been shown in decorating windows for residents and visitors to enjoy, which made judging difficult for Melanie Sadler of the Black Bull Inn, Moulton.
The overall winner was Richmond Heritage Home Improvements who received an engraved trophy from Melanie. Certificates were presented to the best in each of the other three categories.
- Best Retail Gift display: T&M Creations
- Best Retail Non-Gift display: Age UK
- Best Non-Retail display: Rooftops Nursery School
Paul Harrison, Chair of the Original Richmond Business and Tourism Association, was full of praise for everyone who had contributed to the success of this year’s event; “A record number of displays have been created and participants have shown a lot of effort to make their windows look appealing for Easter shoppers and visitors. The windows have created considerable interest and are yet another reason to shop locally. Thank you to The Black Bull Inn at Moulton for sponsoring the event and to Head Judge Melanie. Thank you also to Alyson Swift for organising the competition and all those who have taken part.
“The Easter windows competition is a perfect start to a very busy period for Richmond. With Richmond Mayfest running from 3rd-6th May, a new Saturday market starting next month, and another Magic Tenner event to look forward to, there is plenty to attract shoppers and visitors alike.”
