A new business is set to open its doors to customers at the start of December. The Sweet Stop will join The Station’s strong line-up of local artisan food and drink businesses.
Offering a modern take on a traditional sweet shop experience, The Sweet Stop has been tastefully refurbished to suit its home in the former Victorian railway station. Offering affordable treats for all ages, visitors will be able to enjoy a trip down memory lane with bags of sweets served in traditional quarters or ‘quarts’, as well as bars of chocolate and truffles.
Business Manager Emma Bottomley said, “We are really looking forward to welcoming visitors to The Sweet Stop at our official opening on Tuesday 5th December. We’ve got lots of fabulous festive treats in store, as well as jars full to the brim with all types of sweets, including dolly mixtures, mint imperials, rhubarb and custard, teacakes, bonbons, and lots of liquorice.
Everyone we’ve spoken to in the run-up to opening has talked fondly of favourite childhood sweets, and we’ve got a great selection of pick and mix here at The Sweet Stop - if there’s something you’d really like to see, that isn’t already on our shelves, just let us know!”
The Sweet Stop will open at 10.00am on Tuesday 5th December, and will be open Tuesday – Sunday, 10.00am – 4.00pm in the run up to Christmas.
