We hope looking after our planet is as important to you as it is to us:
TREES - we’ve planted 160 trees across the farm in collaboration with The Woodland Trust.
A shelter belt has also been planted and we’ve filled in hedgerows to continue to create wildlife corridors across the farm.
NATURAL - we don't use chemical fertilizer, pesticides, ivermectin wormers or glyphosate which all destroy microbial activity in the soil, stripping it of its natural fertility. Instead we use regenerative principles such as mob grazing and planned rest to boost fertility and microbe and fungal activity within our soils.
POLLINATORS - a large portion of our farmland is in multi species leys of over 13 different plant species, flowering at different times and providing food for bugs and pollinators.
Dedicated wild flower plots that aren't grazed or cut also provide food and cover for pollinators.
We've seen a big increase in bird activity which indicates the presence of more bugs and pollinators attracting them to the farm.
CARBON NEUTRAL - check out our blogpost from last year about how we became carbon neutral at Tunstall Meat Company.
