A new team of organisers has been busy with the arrangements for this year’s Christmas Fair. This much-loved event will take place in Richmond Market Place on Sunday 1st December 2024, from 10.00am-4.00pm.
Three local businesswomen, Wendy Robinson of Granny’s Kitchen, Carol Watson of Goosewing Studios and Linda Wood of Shanti Shanti are the driving force behind this year’s Christmas Fair. They are members of the Original Richmond Business and Tourism Association (ORBTA) which is the organising body behind the event.
Carol Watson said of the event, "We couldn't let the end of the year go by without a Christmas Fair in Richmond Market Place and, with others willing to help, we've been busy coming up with ideas and plans for a family-friendly day. We have already written to Father Christmas who’s replied saying he'd love to come.
“The festivities will include a variety of local entertainers, both on stage and sauntering around the cobbles who will help to create a wonderful Christmas atmosphere. There will be Christmas market stalls, indoor and out, in addition to the wide variety of independent shops. You might even do all your Christmas shopping on this one day, sustained by a hot chocolate and delicious food!”
So put the date in your diary and you can keep updated here and via social media to find out more about the programme of events as it develops over the next few months.
If you are a Trader and would like to have a stall at the Christmas Fair, an Expression of Interest Form needs to be submitted by 27th August.
Delivering an event of this nature takes time and, of course, money to put on the best show possible in the lead up to the festive period. Donations would be hugely appreciated and can be given through the Richmond Christmas Fair GoFundMe page.
