Original Richmond In Bloom is led by the Original Richmond Business and Tourism Association (ORBTA) and all the work is carried out voluntarily by ORBTA members, Town Councillors and members of the public. The committee will meet again next week to start on plans for the town’s 2020 entry.
Marcia McLuckie, Chair of The Original Richmond, Richmond Business and Tourism Association said, “Richmond has done very well this year with even more individual entries and a bevy of awards! I had really hoped for a gold award for the town this year, but despite attracting more points for our horticulture and community involvement, we lost on the environment. Our task is to work out why this happened and to try again for that coveted gold next year”.
Marcia continued, “The main point is that Richmond is looking even more beautiful thanks to the efforts of a large number of volunteers and financial contributions from local people. This is for the benefit of all who live and work in the town and who visit, and it raises the profile of the town”.
