Children enrolled onto swimming lessons at Richmond Swimming Pool for the autumn term (starts in September 2024) will be able to swim for free at Richmond Swimming Pool for the entire 6 weeks summer holidays - 22nd July to 1st September inclusive.

Nationally swimming is in decline and the charity which runs Richmond Swimming Pool (Richmondshire Leisure Trust) is committed to reversing this trend. Locally we are surrounded by water and it is a vital life skill that children are able to swim; not only swim but swim well - too many children exit swimming lessons once they have been able to complete the 25 metres award and whilst this is a good achievement, we need our kids to be much stronger swimmers.

The summer holidays are a very expensive time for parents attempting to occupy their children, so we’ve come up with the perfect solution. Swimming is fun and regular physical activity has tremendous benefits for health and wellbeing.
