The Town Ticket can be used to gain combined discounted entrance to Richmond’s paying visitor attractions - The Green Howards Museum, Richmond Castle, The Georgian Theatre Experience and the Richmondshire Museum – as well as offering discounts and deals around the town.
Costing just £23, the ticket is valid for a single visit to each attraction between April and October 2024, saving up to £9 on combined entrance costs. In addition, a number of the town’s restaurants and coffee shops are offering between 10-15% off the total bill for unlimited times during the 12 months from the date of issue.
The Station does not charge an entrance fee but ticket holders will enjoy a 10% discount in its Shop as well two-for-one cinema tickets (single use only).
Further deals and discounts will be added throughout the season and details of current offers can be found here.
“Last year’s Town Ticket was extremely popular with a record number being sold during the season,” said Jo Mawhinney, Manager of the Georgian Theatre Royal. “It’s obviously a great deal for tourists but savvy locals have also realised that there are substantial savings to enjoy not just for entrance to their home-town attractions but also for unlocking money off their coffees and meals for a whole year. It’s surprising how quickly this adds up and the ticket soon pays for itself.”
The Town Ticket is an initiative of the ‘Welcome to Richmond Group’ which is part of the Original Richmond Business and Tourism Association. It works as a partnership to promote Richmond to tourists and visitors. As well as the Town Ticket, the Group also runs other successful initiatives such as the Love Being Local Day and the production of the Town Map.
Between them, the town’s five leading tourist attractions pull in thousands of visitors each season.
All five venues are open during the seven months of the ticket’s sale period although some of the attractions are also open outside of these months. Visitors are advised to check individual opening times in advance of their visit.
Town Tickets can be purchased from the participating visitor attractions and are also available online where full information can be found on the participating attractions and offers.
